Breezing Through the Bahamas

Explore beautiful Bahamas

The Bahamas chain of islands is a yachting paradise, although reaching it never comes easy. Although the waters around the Bahamas are generally protected, the ground isn’t easy to navigate and is therefore not recommended for beginner sailors. However, an incredible haven awaits you once you’ve gone past the difficult grounds since this Caribbean archipelago is known for incredible weather all year round, and some of the best beaches and views in the region.

Rich in culture and history, the Bahamas has been long known as a sanctuary for sailors ever since the 18th century. There are 700 islands across the crystalline waters, 16 of which are major towns comprised of shops and restaurants. Its capital city, Nassau, is also a bustling jungle of shops, art galleries, and high-end restaurants great and small.

Ideally explored by water, good weather-day sailing allows for viewing the swarm of fishes, sharks, and rays circling the corals swaying in the current. However, when the channels have dramatic waves, they tend to lead boats and yachts from the safe shallows to deeper seas. Still, the Bahamas is worth the trouble as breathtakingly beautiful beaches, intimate hidden cays, and picture-perfect towns await on its shores.

Explore Andros Barrier Reef, the world’s third largest, or swim with famous beach pigs on Big Major Cay, the Bahamas is your oyster.

Cape Eleuthera Marina

The largest Marina in the Bahamas Out Islands can be found in Cape Eleuthera. Its marina is famed for magnificent beaches and slow, laidback Bahamian charm. Eleuthera has a unique pink-sand beach, pristine coral reefs, and lush tropical forests. This island is also known for its pineapple plantations, so you can expect the most tropical spirit. You can enjoy cruising southwards into Bamboo Point and diving into the crystal blue waters.

Spanish Wells

Off the northern tip of Eleuthera is the Spanish wells, a small settlement distinguished for Bahamian lobster and crawfish. The quaint fishing village is located on the island of St. George’s Cay and offers tourists a variety of its delicious native dishes. The Spanish Wells is also known for its powdery white beaches and tropical breeze. It’s beautiful and empty, and you can waddle along the shallow waters as far as you can. It’s on the list of many tourists’ top destinations in the Bahamas.

Staniel Cay

The island of Staniel Cay is nested in the Exumas, a group of islands famed for sapphire blue waters. You can find many beach activities to enjoy, and the island is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving, thanks to the miles and miles of coral reefs of the island. The clear and shallow waters also make it perfect for kayaking and fishing. Staniel Cay is a neighboring island of the uninhabited Big Major Cay where Pig Beach is located. Dive into the waters with the infamous swimming pigs to complete your Staniel Cay experience.

Any of the Bahamas Islands is indeed a paradise for sport fishers and scuba divers. Beachgoers revel in the palm-lined pink and white beaches and alluring turquoise waters. Not to mention the world-class golf courses and Colonial-style villas, the Bahamas is a luxury hub where not only seafarers but the affluent crowd flock to as well.
